Annual Dames’ retreat

The Dames of the Order of Malta spent four days on retreat at Worth Abbey led by Father Paul Keane, who became a chaplain to the Order last June and is also university chaplain at Cambridge.

His talks centered on the Seven Last Words of Christ as He suffered on the Cross.  Each talk was followed by listening to a recording of Haydn's music on the same theme, giving a chance for reflection.  The Dames also joined the Divine Office with the monks in the Abbey, attended daily Mass, made the Stations of the Cross, had Confession and enjoyed the hospitality of the retreat centre at Worth.

The Dames are looking forward to their annual gathering in November at the Brompton Oratory and next year's retreat at Ampleforth Abbey.
