Daily Prayer of the Order
Members of the Order are obliged each day to say the ‘Prayer of the Order’ (also called the ‘Knight’s Prayer’ or ‘Daily Prayer’) (Code, Article 88 §3), and also to pray daily for the Pope, the Church, the Superiors and all the Members of the Order, for Our Lords the Sick, and Our Lords the Poor (Code, Article 88 §3).
The Daily Prayer of the Order – ‘Oratio equitum’
LORD JESUS, Thou has seen fit to enlist me for Thy service amongst the Knights of St John of Jerusalem. I humbly entreat Thee, through the intercession of the Most Holy Virgin of Philermo, of St John the Baptist, of Blessed Gerard, and of all the Saints, to keep me faithrful to the traditions of our Order.
Be it mine to practise and defend the Catholic, the Apostolic, the Roman faith aainst the enemies of religion. Be it mine to practise charity towards my neighbours, especially the poor and the sick.
Give me the strength I need to carry out this, my resolve, forgetful of myself, learning ever from Thy Holy Gospel a spirit of deep and generous Christian devotion, striving ever to promote God’s glory, the world’s peace, and all that may benefit the Order of St John of Jerusalem. Amen.
DOMINE IESU, qui me Milítiæ Equitum Sancti Ioánnis Hierosolymitáni partícipem fíeri dignátus es, te humíliter déprecor, ut, Beáta María Vírgine a Philerémo, Sancto Ioánne Baptísta, Beáto Gerárdo cunctísque sanctis intercedéntibus, ad sacra Ordinis nostri institúta servánda benígne me ádiuves:
Religiónem cathólicam, apostólicam, Románam fírmiter colam ac advérsus impietátem strénue deféndam. Caritátem erga próximum, præsértim erga páuperes atque infírmos diligénter exérceam.
Concéde mihi virtútes, quibus indígeo, ut, ad Evangélii normam, hæc pia vota ad maiórem Dei glóriam, totíus mundi pacem nostríque Ordinis proféctum, mei ímmemor animóque pénitus Christiáno, váleam implére. Amen.

BLESSED ADRIAN FORTESCUE, pray for me that I may forget myself and love God more. Help me also for His sake to love more my family and my friends, and especially the sick and those in want. Pray also that like you I may risk all for Christ and His Holy Catholic Church. Amen.
BEATE HADRIANE FORTESCUE, ora pro me, ut mei oblivíscens Dei caritáte magis refúlgeam. Adiuva me étiam propter amórem sui magis cognátos familiarésque dilígere, atque in primis, ægros pauperésque. Intercéde étiam pro me ut tui símilis ómnia pro Christo atque Ecclésia sua Cathólica periclitári sim parátus. Amen.
