New Crux Alba number out now.

We are delighted to announce that the second number of our journal, Crux Alba: A Journal of the Order of Malta, is now available.

Crux Alba is a new periodical, published under the auspices of the Grand Priory of England, dedicated to furthering the study of our ancient Catholic religious order.

This issue coincides with both the 150th anniversary year of the foundation of the British Association of the Order of Malta, as well as the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. These two dates come together in our first article, which analyses previously unpublished correspondence between the Founding Fathers of the United States and the Grand Magistry.

The long traditions of the Order are then showcased by a paper on the 'Rhodes' Missal, a high medieval treasure of the Order now in London, as well as an interview with Sor Isabel, one of the last of the Order's nuns part of the royal Spanish convent of Sijema.

There are also articles on the 12th and 21st century visits of Latin Patriarchs to London, and one that breaks how the Order plans to open new hospitals in the Holy Land in 2026.

Further articles review the recent book on the Great Siege of Malta, comment on the influence of the Passion on the spiritual life of the Order, and examine the life of Blessed Adrian Fortescue, martyr and patron of the Grand Priory.

You can find out more at the journal’s dedicated webpage, where you can subscribe. You can buy individual issues at the Grand Priory’s shop.
